AUG 13: DEVON family holiday...

We rented a converted barn near Peter Tavy in Devon - to have a family holiday and to visit Mike's mum in nearby Tavistock.

Lovely and big - inside and out - with beautiful views out over Dartmoor.

I could even see over to my favourite tor on Dartmoor - Brentor - with its little church perched on the top.  Lovely!

Louise, Hitesh, Uma and Arun were in another small cottage nearby and we had some lovely days out at the beach...

and the occasional pub of course...

Granny Jean went for a paddle with Louise!

Luisa and Ema came down for a few days with Callum, Molly and Lola and the children loved the goats, chickens and cats on the farm.

We walked up to the church at Brentor and had a picnic - glorious views over Dartmoor.

It was Ema's birthday while we were there so Lola bought her a croissant with a candle in for her birthday breakfast!...

We all went for a walk across Dartmoor and saw lots of ponies...

Lola decided that she'd walked too far and had a strop!

We went to the Royal Oak in Meavy (good cider!) for lunch then Louise and Hitesh took Uma and Arun swimming and the rest of us went for a short walk down to the bridge and stepping stones just out of the village.

Our short walk turned into a magical afternoon paddling up and down the stream and looking for fairies!

We didn't find any fairies but we had a lot of fun looking for them!

We went back to the barn for a quick check up on the animals and then a birthday tea of jam and scones and Cornish (or Devon!) pasties - and a cuppa of course!

And Lola took some selfies...

A lovely holiday with most of our children and grandchildren - must do it again! x
